When to Sow Marmalade Rudbeckia Seeds
February to April
Where to Sow
Sow the seeds on the surface of good, free-draining seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F) until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.
What to do Next
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12″) apart.
Flowers
July to August
Handy Tip
Earlier flowers can be obtained by sowing in February under glass at 16°C
