When to Sow Gardeners Delight Tomato Seeds
January to April

Where to Sow
Sow tomato seeds in pots or trays of a good seed sowing compost at 0.5cm deep. Cover lightly with compost or vermiculite and keep under glass. Place containers in a propagator at a temperature of 18–21°C.

What to do Next
When the seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out into 9cm (3 1/2in) pots. Transplant to the greenhouse border soil, or into individual large pots, or in a grow bag when 20cm (8in) high with 3 plants in each. Tomato plants can also planted outdoors once all risk of frost has passed. Plants require sideshooting and support for the best yields. Water and feed plants regularly with a high potash feed once the first truss has set.

If growing outside, pinch out the growing tip after 4-5 trusses of fruit have set.
