Where to Sow
Sow September sowings direct into the flowering site at 2cm (3/4″) deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings can be in a heated glasshouse. March sowings can be made in a cold frame. Sow April sowings direct to flowering site too.

What to do Next
Glasshouse raised seedlings should be hardened off during March, prior to planting out. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6″) apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4″) apart. Pick sweet pea flowers regularly to encourage new growth.

Handy Tip
Provide sturdy support for plants such as trellis, arches and teepees. After rain a mature plant will be heavy.
