About the goods
Item descriptions are as accurate as possible, especially relating to the proper (Latin) names, prices and container sizes that plants are supplied in.
How can I pay?
Payment methods are available at checkout, but include visa/mastercard/amex and apple/google pay.
These may change from time to time and we will endeavour to update the information here as quickly as possible.
Delivery of your order
We use Royal Mail for our deliveries, this is generally a 48 hour service. Our cut off time for orders is 17.00 Mon to Thu – Orders arriving after these times (Fri/Sat/Sun will be sent on the Monday following).
We endeavour to dispatch all orders the day after, however at busy times please allow 48 hours for us to process, pack and dispatch your order. If there are likely to be any serious delays, we will attempt to message you so that you can decide whether to wait or cancel your order. We will delay sending of plants in the event of extreme weather, either cold or hot so that your plants are not at risk of damage in transit, again, we will advise if we feel this is neccessary.
Statutory Cancellation Period
All goods supplied are subject to a 14 day cancellation period from date of delivery, if you change your mind regarding the purchase, please return the undamaged goods to us, you will need to pay the return postage.
If the goods are :
Any type of potted plant, we can only accept returns IF they have stayed within the pot and not been planted out.
Seeds – packets must be unopened and undamaged.
Any other goods – Please return with original packaging and in undamaged condition.
Once we have received the goods and checked them, we will issue a refund for the full amount of the original order. Refunds will be issued within 72 Hours of receipt of returned goods.
Online orders that are Collected or Hand Delivered Locally
We offer a 100% money back guarantee, where you order from the website and either collect any item(s) from our address above, or we deliver any item(s) personally to your specified address, and you are unsatisfied. Refunds will be made within 48 hours.
What do I do if my order is damaged on arrival?
If your goods are damaged, please notify us at iain@borringtons.com within 48 hours of receipt. We will need to get a description of the damage, and pictures to show that the goods were damaged in transit, so that we can make a claim. If you would like a replacement, please let us know and we will send as soon as we can, if the item is out of stock OR you would prefer a refund, let us know and we will arrange directly with you how we will resolve the issue.
Order Confirmation
Our pay partners will send you email confirmation of the payment, we do not have access to your card details, emails are normally sent instantly a transaction is made.
Our shop system will send email confirmation of your order and the items/costs/postage. Please check this and let us know if you believe there is any error, so that we can deal with this promptly.
Plant Health
All plants sold are checked before dispatch for pests and diseases, for face to face sales we are not required to issue plant passports, but for any plants sold by distance and posted out, or if you are a trade buyer, plant passports will be attached. Please keep these for a minimum of three years.
Borringtons is registered as both a seed packer and to issue plant passports via Scottish Government, and is required to have yearly inspections of our growing areas and stock.
